Delightful Pea & Ham Soup

GREAT WAY TO USE UP COOKED GAMMON FROM LAST NIGHT’S DINNER.

If using cooked gammon, simply shred and add during the last 30 minutes of cooking.
Place all the ingredients into your Crock-Pot bowl. Cover and cook on Low for 6-7 hours or High for 5-6 hours.

Remove the lid and adjust the seasoning, removing the bay leaves.

Using the back of a spoon press the Ham chunks against the side of the bowl to break them into the soup.

  • 2 medium onions, finely diced
  • 2 sticks of celery, finely diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, finely
  • 500g chopped gammon, fat removed & cut into approx 3cm chunks
  • 1.5 litres vegetable stock
  • 1tsp dried thyme
  • 500g dried yellow/green split peas, rinsed then drained
